Movie marathon

Eight different movies in one no-forty winks night session. Hey, that's between 7pm and 5am the next day. That's me all alone in a dark and quite room.

The idea struck me after I bumped into a friend holding a couple of good films in his hand. But before jolting into the idea of borrowing, I had to apply for an account first. And so I did. After passing a filled-up applicatin form and a 50 pesos to the manager of Video City, I started roaming around the vicinity. I went through the drama, sci-fi section and then to the comedy section.

After one hour, I got Seabiscuit, Mystic River, ET, Spiderman 1, Stuck on You, K-Pax, Paycheck, and About a Boy. From 7 pm until 5 am my eyes got doze-proof and heavier. And what did i got in return? Lessons in life, new vocabulary, new english and american idioms. I wonder, what it's like to be an actor? Of course aside from beautifying one self, the thespian-thing should become a part of you. Inclination and a continued knack for the art must always be present to keep you going amidst the stress, fatigue and annoying director it brings. I remembered once in my life I tried taking the stage and acted for a minute or two. That was in 6th grade.

Oscar winners Sean Paul, Kevin Spacey and nominees Jeff Bridges keeps me always remembering that life is always unfair, you never knew when you're going to blow up and the perfect timing to do perfect things.

From among the films, K-Pax moved my ego seriously.

GMA's ambitious 10 point program

From 6, she added 4. Now, an ambitious 10-point program purposely aimed at attaining a more brighter future for all of us has been laid. With a new government, which some considered still illegitimate, it has come to our senses that no matter how persistent and determined the government in implementing its plans, no amount of progress will be expected if genuine sincerity for reconciliation is not manifested. In fact, the new govt's request for a brief honeymoon was rejected outrightly by the Opposition and ignored by most media companies. Honestly, the first time I heard of the word "honeymoon" I miscostrue it as GMA and FG Mike request for a second honeymoon, probably a sort of celebration or party for the victory. Even Senator Enrile was similarly puzzled by the term, saying that it would cause nothing for the them but a waste of time, they would have use the time "checking and balancing" the government. But hey, did they mind to ask the electoral to grant GMA a second honeymoon?Taken from PDI 02/07/04 Editorial
How do you evaluate last Tuesday's "international event"?
Even the elite people would agree with me that last Tuesday's inauguration of the 14th president of the Republic of the Philippines is such a lavish display of the governments' inept move to perk up its image. I admit that I don't have any basis as to the estimated amount they spent nor figures extracted from market analyst. But with all my senses in force close to the television, an average-reasonable person would also conclude that Arroyo was up for impressing the foreign dignitaries about the government's capacity to throw such lavish party where in fact it could not even alleviate slightly the status of the poor.
Going back, the 10 programs they hope to be fulfilled are evidences that Arroyo is surely in deep concern and interest to spell a more pompous image for herself. We have been witnessed to her kind of administering and she has done nothing but only to exacerbate our plight as a poor struggling country.
I do really hope that I made sense for this particular blog.

Why does everyone go crazy about Spiderman 2?

Spiderman 2: Starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spiderman, Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and Alfred Molina as Dr. Octopus. Showing in Manila Theaters on July 1
Tomorrow, Manila residents are to experience another cinematic event of the year, after Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban, the stimulating, exciting and gluey world of Spiderman sequel. Still starring, of course, are Tobey Maguire as the weak-looking Peter Parker and alter-ego Spiderman, Kirsten Dunsts as Mary Jane Watson, James Franco as Harry Osbourne, the new villain, Alfred Molino as the Dr. Otto Octavius, and many other characters that made Peter's life either full of happiness or misery. Directed by Sam Raimi, the sequel to the 2002 blockbuster hit, the film has new complex scenes and characters that will surely break first-day gross income come its showing in Manila Theaters. Good thing though I have friends in Manila whom I requested to send me at least pirated dvd copies of the film. Yeah, after watching it first here, I'll have reasons to brag my friends about it and make them begrudge to death. Hehehe...evil.

So why does everyone go crazy about Spiderman 2 or the Spiderman series? Well, plot has something to do with the vogue of course. The storyline fetch readers or viewers in a world that is far imaginable from ours. The characters gives the series and the cast that plays in the film spells a certain kind of attraction to the viewers.

I better watch the film myself so that I can give a more dynamic explanation of the movie...
