Movie marathon
Eight different movies in one no-forty winks night session. Hey, that's between 7pm and 5am the next day. That's me all alone in a dark and quite room.
The idea struck me after I bumped into a friend holding a couple of good films in his hand. But before jolting into the idea of borrowing, I had to apply for an account first. And so I did. After passing a filled-up applicatin form and a 50 pesos to the manager of Video City, I started roaming around the vicinity. I went through the drama, sci-fi section and then to the comedy section.
After one hour, I got Seabiscuit, Mystic River, ET, Spiderman 1, Stuck on You, K-Pax, Paycheck, and About a Boy. From 7 pm until 5 am my eyes got doze-proof and heavier. And what did i got in return? Lessons in life, new vocabulary, new english and american idioms. I wonder, what it's like to be an actor? Of course aside from beautifying one self, the thespian-thing should become a part of you. Inclination and a continued knack for the art must always be present to keep you going amidst the stress, fatigue and annoying director it brings. I remembered once in my life I tried taking the stage and acted for a minute or two. That was in 6th grade.
Oscar winners Sean Paul, Kevin Spacey and nominees Jeff Bridges keeps me always remembering that life is always unfair, you never knew when you're going to blow up and the perfect timing to do perfect things.
From among the films, K-Pax moved my ego seriously.
